hello! bonjour! ciao! hallo!
I realize that I never concluded my journey in switzerland from jan-march of last year (2015)!! it was such an incredibly challenging + rewarding time in my life and a time that I will forever cherish. looking back, I appreciate all that I have learned + experienced because of it...so with that being said, lets catch up real quick!
as most of you know, the family I stayed with + taught english to are trying to move to the states where they will start a new chapter in their lives, but because the process of moving to a different country is very long + tedious they are currently living in canada while they prepare for their final move into the USA.
I still stay in touch with them + I am hoping that once they are settled into their new home, I can make a trip out to visit and catch up. they will always be a part of my life + I even joke with maren (the mom) that she's my german aunt. (;
I learned SO much during my short three months + discovered things about myself + others that no other experience could have provided. of course there were days at a time that I found myself wishing I could go back to a familiar place where I spoke the language, where my phone would actually work, where I knew people all around me, and where I could find my way around without relying on google translate (; BUT I look back and truly appreciate all of the experiences that pushed me out of my comfort zone + ultimately shaped my perspectives + allowed me to grow.
I love the gruhn family and I love switzerland; both of which hold a special place in my heart that is irreplaceable.
thank you, thank you for all of the love + support that you have shown + continue to show! life is such a beautiful journey.
xx
